From September 24 to 26, 2025, the city of Chorzów hosted the 65th edition of the International Scientific Conference "Solidification and Crystallization of Metals" (KIKM 2025). The event was organized by the Alumni Association of the Silesian University of Technology "Foundrymen’s Circle" in cooperation with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Technology of the Silesian University of Technology and the Committee of Materials Engineering and Metallurgy of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
We are proud to announce that Prof. Grzegorz Gumienny represented our Department as a speaker, delivering a presentation entitled “As-cast Ausferritic Cast Iron”, co-authored with Assoc. Prof. Tomasz Symczak. The lecture attracted considerable interest from the conference participants and addressed current research directions in advanced materials technologies.
Moreover, Prof. Gumienny had the honor of chairing one of the scientific sessions, actively moderating the discussion and coordinating presentations within the selected thematic scope.
