On September 11, 2025, a meeting of the Foundry Commission of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Katowice Branch, was held in the Council Room of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Technology at the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice.
Representatives of our Department actively participated in the event:
- Prof. Tadeusz Pacyniak – Vice-Chairman of the Commission
- Prof. Cezary Rapiejko – Member of the Commission
- Dr. hab. Eng. Ryszard Władysiak – Member of the Commission
One of the main points of the agenda was the presentation of awards and distinctions to the Laureates of the Prof. W. Sakwa Competition and FOSECO Awards, which are important recognitions for young researchers and promote innovative approaches to foundry technologies.
We are proud to announce that MSc Eng. Marta Różycka, a graduate of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Materials Technology and Production Systems at Lodz University of Technology, received a distinction for her master’s thesis entitled:
"Analysis of the Possibility of Applying Heat Treatment to Castings Made of EN AC-46000 Alloy in the Conditions of the Wifama-Prexer Innovation and Implementation Enterprise"
📘 The thesis supervisor was Dr. hab. Eng. Tomasz Szymczak & Prof. Bogusław Pisarek.
