From October 9-11, 2024, representatives from our Department, Prof. Cezary Rapiejko and Prof. Bogusław Pisarek, participated in the "International MAGMA User Meeting 2024," held in Frankfurt am Main.
he meeting was attended by 337 participants from 144 companies and 11 universities. Polish universities were represented by the Łódź University of Technology and the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków.
Among the numerous represented enterprises were well-known automotive brands such as Ferrari S.p.A., Tesla Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg, Audi AG, Mercedes Benz AG, TOYOTA MOTOR CORP., Hyundai Motor Company Ulsan Plant. Polish companies included Brembo Poland Sp. z o.o., KOM-ODLEW Komputerowe Systemy Inżynierskie Sp. z o.o., Krakodlew S.A., Nemak Poland, and Volkswagen Poznan Sp. z o.o.
In addition to traditional lectures, some sessions were conducted in the form of workshops. Participants chose modules of interest and worked in international teams. During the "International MAGMA User Meeting 2024," there were also accompanying events where participants could exchange experiences in a less formal atmosphere. There was also time to explore the city.
The meeting was an exceptional opportunity to broaden knowledge on the use of MAGMASOFT® software, practical applications of the latest modules and system improvements, and to share experiences with other software users from around the world (business and academia), to successfully conduct virtual experiments aimed at optimizing foundry processes.
In the educational activities conducted by the Department of Material Technology and Production Systems, MAGMASOFT® software is used as a comprehensive and effective tool for casting process simulation, used in the industry to improve casting quality, optimize the casting process, and reduce production costs.
